RTITB Fork Lift Truck Novice
An FLT (Forklift Truck) Novice course is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in operating a forklift. It provides comprehensive training on forklift safety, operation, and maintenance. Participants learn essential skills such as truck familiarization, weight assessment, handling pallets, stacking and de-stacking, and safety code testing.
Description
On completion of the course candidates will be able to operate the truck model used during training safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturer’s handbook and good practice. This course is suitable for RTITB certified lift truck operators who wish to reaffirm their driving skills.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Identify the lift truck model in use
- Conduct weight assessments
- Understand controls and instruments
- Handle laden and unladen pallets
- Start, move, steer and stop the truck
- Stack/de-stack using the truck
- Operate hydraulic controls
- Conduct a pre-use inspection and takeover maintenance – both free standing and in racking
Qualification gained:
Candidates will be assessed by the trainer who will conduct both a practical and paper-based exam. If the candidate passes this assessment they will receive an RTITB accredited certificate and Fork Lift Truck Licence
