City and Guilds 18th Edition

This qualification ensures that you are up-to-date with the latest industry regulation on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. It covers the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, which came into force in June 2018. These regulations are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671).

Description

The aim of this three day course is to provide a comprehensive overview of all aspects of wiring regulations. This qualification is aimed at those who have not previously completed a wiring regulations training course or gained the qualification prior to 2015.

By the end of the course the participants will:

  • Understand the scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671
  • Understand the definitions used within BS7671
  • Understand how to assess the general characteristics of electrical Installations 
  • Understand requirements of protection for safety for electrical installations 
  • Understand the requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations 
  • Understand the requirements of Inspection and testing of electrical installations, including the use of PAT equipment. 
  • Understand the requirements of Special installations or locations as identified in BS. 
  • Understand the requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations. 
  • Understand the legal status and association with statutory documents
