Basic Hydraulics

This Course is designed to give delegates instruction and practice of identifying hydraulic components, circuit construction, basic fault finding techniques and how to operate safely around pneumatics systems.

Description

  • Reading and interpreting hydraulic circuit diagrams 
  • Constructing a simple hydraulic circuit 
  • Selecting and installing components as prescribed by the circuit diagrams 
  • Setting up procedure relating to hydraulic components
  • Testing the performance of a pump involving the use of basic diagnostics 
  • Application of LOTO procedure when working with live hydraulics and applying safe working practices 
  • Basic fault- finding procedures

  • Types of Flow control devices-function and operation

  • Types of hydraulic hoses and the meaning of (STAMPED) 
  • Hydraulic fluid in Common use and the importance of Contamination Control

Delegates will also be able to manufacture components using manual lathes. This course is one of the units from the performing engineering operations qualification. This course is suitable for new users or experienced users who are looking for a formal qualification / upskilling to develop their skills in preparing and using lathes.
