This course provides learners who may encounter hazardous substances with the skills and knowledge to identify potential risks and implement effective control measures.

Description

The qualification covers workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities, as well as office and classroom environments. It aims to support workplace roles, but can be used for younger learners preparing for employment or wanting to progress onto further learning in a related area.

On completion of this course candidates will know:

  •  Principles of Hazardous substances in the workplace 
  • Hazards and risks to health caused by hazardous substances 
  • Risk assessments for safe use of hazardous substances 
  • Precautions and procedures to control the risk of hazardous substances
